Flow Editor glossary
Definitions for the user-facing terms used throughout the Flow Editor.

Activation — The primary node that starts a strategy run.
Backtest — A simulation of a saved strategy over historical data and configured assumptions.
Canvas — The visual area that contains nodes and connections.
Checkpoint — A named historical point created for recovery or comparison.
Control connection — A connection that determines what can run next.

Data connection — A connection that provides a typed value to an input.
Data Port — A typed input or output exposed by a node.
Dirty — A state indicating local changes not yet confirmed as saved.
Inspector — The panel for selection details, Parameters, Outcomes, and Data Ports.
Outcome — A possible control result of a node, such as Match or Submitted.
Parameter — A saved setting that configures a node.
Primary activation — The single entry point required by a graph.

QHM Metric Value — A node that reads the exact available version of a Quant Hub metric as data.
Quick add — A menu of nodes compatible with a selected connection handle.
Replay — A read-only inspection of debug data recorded by an eligible Backtest.
Restore — A non-destructive action that creates a new current version from historical content.
Tactical — A strategy mode for supported market-event and instrument logic.
Portfolio — A strategy mode for scheduled or safety-driven asset allocation logic.
Validation — Checks that report graph problems and readiness.
Variable — A declared named value that Read Variable can expose and Set Variable can update.
